Simple & Cheap DIY Felt Flowers

One of my favorite DIY.  I've tried making so many different flowers.  These felt flowers can be done so simple and fast, its almost ridiculous!  I don't have pictures YET to guide through the steps.  However I do have a picture of the finished product and instructions.  Felt at walmart costed 27 cents for one cloth sheet.  With that sheet I made 2.

What you will need for this project:
Thread, Needle, Felt, Candle/lighter, Tweezer.  Bead/Button optional for center of flower.

Step One:  Cut a square, from the felt.  The first square you cut (the base) will determine how big you want your flower.

Step Two:  Cut another square out from the felt, slightly smaller than your first (base) square.  Repeat this step until you have 4 squares all together.  Remember each square will be smaller than the PREVIOUS square.

Step Three:  Take one square at a time, cut the corners in a circluar edge so that your square is now a circle.  So, in other terms, cut a circle out of the square.

Step Four:  Take the biggest circle.  Your base.  With a tweezer, lightly singe the edge of the circle with fire.  *Warning:  This process gets smelly and can cause a fire.  Do away from children.  Make sure that there is nothing around your work area that will burn if you end up holding the felt over the candle to long.  I find it best to keep a bucket/bowl of water at arms reach if you end up overdoing the singe.*  Pass the circles edge through the flame and quick and work your away around to give the edges the rustic edge.  This step may be skipped if you prefer.

Step Five:  Assemble your flower :)  Start with your base and put the next big circle on working your way to the smallest circle.  Thread your needle, knot the end.  Pass through the bottom to the top layer.
String through the bead/button and guide your needle back through the flower from the top.  Repeat 2-3 times to make sure your flower is secured properly.  Tie off at the back off the flower.  VOILA!  You have your flower!  :)  Feel free to leave comments, suggestions or questions!  Thanks for reading!

Introduction *welcome to my blog*

Hey there!  Just gonna start off with an introduction.  My love of DIY has always been around for as long as I remember.  It varied here and there with age from my younger days.  I remember making a little breakfast in bed tray for my mother on mothers day when I was 8.  Being 8 years old, i'd have to say that I didn't possess superpower DIY at that age but my ma was pretty pleased with the odd looking, recycled old, kitchen drawer.  The craftiness has stuck with me since then!  I've been DIY since!  Now that i've grown older and have moved on to being engaged, I stuck to my computer for HOURS finding all the crazy, neat DIY wedding ideas!  So my next idea for a creative outlet, wedding DIY.  From favors, bouquets, centerpieces, etc!  I ended up cutting the cost of my wedding into half!  :O  So now its time to share my love of wedding planning and DIY with the world!  First up, I will be introducing my simple, easy and super cheap felt flowers that are versatile!  Enjoy ladies!!!  :)
